The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming, but there are still CNC machines being prepared in Dabai's workshop.
This week, our production team is continuing the final work on machines scheduled for delivery. Before a CNC machining center leaves the factory, there are still several things that need to be checked - machine assembly, electrical connections, spindle operation, axis movement, tool changer operation, and overall machine running condition.
For a vertical machining center, these checks may look routine, but they are important when the machine is going to a customer's workshop thousands of kilometers away.
Once the machine is loaded into a container, it is no longer convenient for an engineer to make adjustments. That is why we prefer to finish the necessary inspection and testing before shipment rather than leave problems to be solved after the machine arrives.
This is particularly important for our larger equipment, including large vertical machining centers and gantry machining centers. Large machines require more attention to transportation, packing, loading, and positioning because the equipment itself can be several meters long and several tonnes in weight.
The same principle applies when we prepare machines for different machining requirements. A customer buying a standard 3-axis VMC, a 4-axis machining center, a 5-axis machine, or a gantry machining center may have very different production needs. The machine has to be checked according to its actual configuration rather than treated as another item on a production list.
The workshop is quieter than usual when a holiday approaches, but the work behind a machine does not disappear.
Some customers are waiting for their equipment to arrive after the holiday. Some are already preparing the foundation and installation area in their factories. Our job is to make sure the machine leaving Dabai is ready for the next step.
For us, this is also part of what the Mid-Autumn Festival means this year.
While our team takes a short break with their families, the machines prepared before the holiday will continue their journey to customers in different parts of the world.
